Walking With Jesus!!

It is not easy to walk with Jesus and yet lotsa Christians wanted to walk right with Jesus.. Therefore I really want to blog all my walks so that I can remember all the walks that I have had with Jesus and to rely on Him and allow Him to carry me when I couldn't walk right with Him anymore.

Obey our parent no matter what happen

Have you ever encountered this phrase before? "Come on, you are a big boy or girl now. Still have to live under your parent's direction?" Is this a common sentences that you get when you tell your beloved colleagues, friends or even relatives your parent did not allow you to do a certain things in life?

I am sure you all have, haven't you? Well I guess that it is so common here in Asia countries and perhaps in some western countries too, am I right? Well as for me, I would like to think of it as my life principle. Call me a traditional guy but hey, in everything I do, they are the one who give birth to me, they are the who feed me well to make the healthy me now, they are the one who actually educate me until I am this intelligent or wise. Perhaps I am not as wise and intelligent as everyone else but I do believe that I am wise enough to do I want to do in how to survive in this dog eats dog world.

Anyway my life principle to my parent is despite all the wrong my parent might do, I do not like to think them as my opposition. I would still listen to them whenever they had make up a decision. I do not like the belief that I do things without my parent's blessings. Even marriage. I would rather not do a certain thing until they approve of what I am about to do. I do believe that God gave them wisdom and knowledge in dealing with people like me when we were young. Do you know that you and me were young, we were hard to please type of child? I know I do. I am not an easy pleasing guy. I do not live to please others but myself a lot of time. Even until now. I would argue with my parent to get things my way. But when they strictly said no to anything they displeased with me, I would obediently obey. And I guess this is very important. If parent loses their authority on us, we will lose blessings from God because we choose to rebel and not obey. In the Bible, it is written in Ephesians 6: 1-3.

1 Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord,[a] for this is the right thing to do. 2 “Honor your father and mother.” This is the first commandment with a promise: 3 If you honor your father and mother, “things will go well for you, and you will have a long life, full of blessing. (NLT)” [b]

It was written by Paul. Remember what Paul wrote in verse 1, the part [a]. "you belong to the Lord". Remember that we are all belonging to God and God alone. So when we all belongs to God, we do God's will and getting our parent's approval in decision making even a wrong decision is part of God's will for us. Well that is what I believe in. That for me is a statement of making decision. If you make decision to obey your parent in everything that you do even the foolish one, you belong to the Lord.

Then in part [b], because you did what you did to honor your parent, you will receive a reward. The reward is a long life, which is full of blessings. It is not written what type of blessing we will receive but I do believe it would be a blessings where even our pastors could not even comprehend because the blessing belongs to the Lord. It was with our Lord Jesus' generosity who will bless us but it would be in full term.

So imagine this. If people were to tell you that you are big boy or girl and who still listens to your parent and they called you a fool, remember this. They are more foolish than you because they do not know what is the outcome when a person obey. They only know the short term of blessing and that is they could get away with their parent's (perhaps) traditional direction. But what they do not know is that if they obey they can be sure of a long term blessing from God. Perhaps not directly bur still a blessing to come. Isn't that what we as Christians want? Or perhaps the non-Christian as well? Blessing from the Almighty above.

But bear in mind, we are seeking the Blesser and not just the blessing itself only. So let us obey our parent and God in the manner where God is everything and what we want from life is to live the way our parent is please with us. If our parent are not a wise decision maker, well pray that they would be. Or at least discuss with them why they choose the decision and not your decision. I am sure something good would turn out well because our God is a Good and Loving God. Amen.. =)

Hope

Last night as I were cleaning up my stuffs, I found an article containing the hope of God. It was a piece of paper with the verses and two quote from two different person. So I would like to take this opportunity to share these verses and the quotes. So here's the verses and the quotes. Enjoy.

1) May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in You. (Psalms 33:22)

2) Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior & my God. (Psalms 42:11)

3) And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us. (Romans 8:24)

4) For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? (Romans 8:24)

5) Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. (Romans 12:12)

6) We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain. (Hebrews 6:19)

7) But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in You. (Psalms 39:7)

8) Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. (Hebrews 10:23)

9) But the needy will not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the afflicted ever perish. (Psalms 9:18)

10) Anyone who is among the living has hope - even a live dog is better than a dead lion. (Ecclesiastes 9:4)

11) May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13)

12) I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope. (Psalms 130:5)

13) "Men and women are limited not by the place of their birth, not by the color of their skin, but by the size of their hope." - John Johnson

14) Hope is the helmet of each noble soldier (1 Thessalonians 5:8) / For only the warrior who hopes can be brave . - lyrics of HOPE by Michael Card

Christmas greeting

As today is Christmas Eve already, I would like to wish all my beloved readers a very Blessed Christmas. Remember that it was Jesus' birth that we have Christmas to celebrate. Without Him there is no such celebration. Christmas is not just about us but its all about God who came down from Heaven to die for us, lived a suffering life and persecuted to death. So all in all be thankful and be grateful that all you have are all from Him. We all might be reckless at times, that's alright. But despite all the recklessness let us all be more thankful than to be more greedy.

Anyway, anyhow, Blessed Christmas to you all.. May our Lord Jesus Christ continue to touch you all and bless you all. Stay healthy always.. =) God bless..

Happy 33rd anniversary

Two days ago (2nd December'11) was my parent's 33 years of marriage anniversary. I nearly forgot about it and therefore I am using this time to share something about it since I still remember.

First of all, I would like to congratulate my parent for able to sustain their marriage until now. I do not know what is the reason but I do know one thing. Despite their old age, (Dad 75 years old last month and Mom 68 years old in August'11) they still hold their hand when they go out together for shopping and perhaps when they were alone in the public. I accidentally found out about it and I admire their love towards each other. We are not a perfect family to be honest though. In fact we are considered a broken family if you include the arguments that we all as a family have had. In fact we always argued. Between me and my parent, we argued all the time. From a non-issue matters to serious matters we tend to argue a lot. In fact it has always been a family habit where my parent will tease each other.

But one thing I noticed in my family's habit, we all love each other a lot. In fact my parent had impacted me a godly character which instead of them declaring it, they actually act upon it. They actually took care of my maternal grandpa until he passed away despite my grandpa's bad manners and bad attitude towards them. They actually impacted the 10th Commandment into my life which is "Honor your parent and you shall live a long and lasting life." Because of that I came to learn this love of taking care of them from they themselves.

As a family we might be rich like how the rich family impacted into their children. But guess what? I am also rich mostly because God is in the centre of my life and another part is because my parent taught me the real meaning of rich, which we as a Christian and that is be rich in love. Why? Reason is because God is love and if we are rich in love, we are rich in God. Ain't that what we should have and focus in life? I might not be love everybody (though I am trying) but because my parent love their father cum father in law, I learn to love my parent though my parent are nasty sometimes.

Because of what they had done, I am assure that though my family are not rich in materialism but they are rich in love towards each other and that makes me secure in loving my own parent and parent in law in future and thus my children loves me and their in law in future and so on and so forth. And guess what? Love conquers all. Not materialism.

So here once again wishing my parent a blessed 33 years of wedding anniversary. May they continue to shower love to each other and that love continues to be the the guide to love our parent and in law. God bless you Dad and Mom. =)

Grown Up Christmas List

I first stumbled upon this Christmas song when I purchased Michael Buble's Christmas CD and as I listen to it and then after reading the lyrics, I found it a meaningful Christmas song although it is not the traditional Christmas carol. As I look at the lyric, I found there is love, peace and joy in this song where these love, peace and joy can only be found in our Lord Jesus Christ. Without Him there would be no love, peace and joy. Through the Lord Jesus Himself only we can gain salvation and salvation does not come free. It came through Lord Jesus' Himself crucification. So remember that it is only love, peace and joy that we could have life and have life abundantly.

Remember this. As written in Bible John 3:16

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

It is Jesus who gave us the joy, peace and love. So let us continue to seek after Him in all our doings, whether we sinned against Him or we are blessed by Him. Let Him give us the fruit of love, peace and joy for it is Him who can give that three fruits of satisfaction in our life.

As Christmas is approaching, let us continue to seek after Him, whether it is short prayer or long, it does not matter. What matter is our willingness to seek after Him.

Anyway here's the youtube for this song. Grown Up Christmas List, sang by both Kelly Clarkson and Michael Buble. The lyric is below both the youtube. Enjoy.. May you have a joyous Christmas with Jesus' joy, peace and love blended in your life. God bless.. =)

Michael Buble's version

Lyric

Do you remember me?
I sat upon your knee
I wrote to you with childhood fantasies
Well, I'm all grown-up now
Can you still help somehow?
I'm not a child, but my start still can dream

So here's my lifelong wish
My grown-up Christmas list
Not for myself, but for a world in need

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
Every man would have a friend
That right would always win
And love would never end
This is my grown-up Christmas list

What is this illusion called the innocence of youth?
Maybe only in that blind belief can we ever find the truth

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal our hearts
Every man would have a friend
That right would always win
And love would never end

This is my grown-up Christmas list
This is my only lifelong wish
This is my grown-up Christmas list

An evening in December

I would like to start my 1st day of December cum Christmas month with this song. It is not the month of December that is so special but it is what God had done in our life that makes this month so different and special. It is a time in the year where we normally starts counting our blessings because it is also the last month of the year before the new year appears. As we listen to this song, let us reflect back to our past years. Perhaps our past 11 months of what God had done in our life and give thanks to Him with all gratitude. I had to say this is not a typical Christmas song but it was written in Christmas album by the group called First Call in 80's if not mistaken. So enjoy. =)

Lyric

As I wait here
In this evening in December
I remember
How it felt to be a child
This old house
Still feels the same
All the family will be here
In just a while

I hope daddy gets here first
To build the fire
He's the only one who has
That special touch
Then my sister with her kids
And my grandma who I love
So very much

Chorus:
Oh, I'm glad we'll be together
On this evening in December
We'll watch the falling snow
And hold each other close
I'm so glad we'll be together
For an evening to remember
On this night
On this December night

Sometimes out on the road
It gets so lonely
Cause I miss those special people
I hold dear
Though our calendars are full
At least for this one night
We'll all be here

How the children love
This evening in December
And while the smallest ones
Are playing on the floor
There's a warmth I can't explain
And I feel the love of those
Who've gone before

Repeat chorus

Keep the fire burning here
Until we all come back next year

Repeat chorus
