The politic
A week ago last Friday, I went to SIB Young Adult Combine cell group. Ps Lee Choo was sharing on this topic called The politic of Jesus' ministry. Well it was quite an interesting sharing and it ended with Question and Answer session. The session was quite a heated session with some sort of nearly an arguments with some new lawyers rise up to argue when it comes to hot debate bout politic.
One of the most interesting sharing that Ps Lee Choo brought up was this and it is very true. She said that as much as we support whichever political party the root problem in political is how we react towards the winning of the respective political party. I mean whether our party won or lose, it is very important to know we as the supporter of the party must never gone extreme whether the party we supported lost or won during the election. We need to guard our behavior and our attitude must be right and be in peace whether they lost or won in the election.
After the session, we were still talking bout political issue when out of sudden we ended up nearly into an argument. The basis of argument is this. One of the cell member supported Anwar Ibrahim because he thought and believe that Anwar Ibrahim can lead Malaysia into clean country in terms of corruption and inflation if Anwar even become a Prime Minister. As for me, I believe whether the election is just or fair, it had bring the country into a deeper level of reformation and truly I felt sad and pity our current Prime Minister, Pak Lah for losing out a lot during this election. As we go into deeper discussion, he started to become more and more extreme. He started to stare me in the eye and wanting to psycho my mind into thinking that Opposition party is better than BN. And I find his ways of wanting my support over the opposition party quite intimidating. And I had to admit that his attitude is truly unacceptable if he ever want to convert me into believing that PKR is better than BN. It is just by the way he force me to support the party that makes me wonder, "sure or not PKR better? I mean by his reaction towards me so-called against PKR." I had to say that he is of without grace that if his party were not to win this time to form a new government, he will find other means of way to get support. I do not know. I mean whoever won in the election whether it is BN, PKR, PAS or even DAP, we need to support and respect them cause they are the one that the Rakyat choose. Unless of course the Rakyat was blind and choose wrongly. I guess as much as a month had passed ever since the election, we need to learn to deal with this new changes in the government with grace. And it is not just by grace but by God's grace. Otherwise lotsa problems will rise up even though opposition party won more vote than last election.
Anyway at the end of the day, he kept quiet after being lectured by me for being so intolerance towards my rights and perhaps other people's rights if ever they choose BN as their supported party. Let me end this blog by commenting on a question, if possible I shall called it "interesting" question. Okay. PAS always maintained that they followed their Islamic teaching well. Well since PAS is an Islamic party and had a strong Islamic teaching, is it a sin for the PAS to actually play politic? I mean deposited their money RM5,000 for election rally and if ever they win they can keep the opposition party's deposited money. I mean isn't that a form of gambling? I do not mean to provoke any Muslims who might read this blog but I am interested to know what do the Muslims think bout this? For Christians, a small sin is still a sin, whether it is for good or for bad, whether we like it or not? But for Muslims? Any lawyer here who might be interested to comment on this? I asked my Malay colleague. They also not sure but they tell it is okay if the RM5,000 is to help others. But does the money help others? Can anybody comment on it? Thanks.
